CalSnap ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the CalSnap mobile application ("App").

Information We Collect

1. Food Photos

When you use the photo analysis feature:

Photos are sent to our servers for AI analysis
Photos are processed by NVIDIA's Vision AI API
We do NOT store your photos — they are deleted immediately after analysis
Only the nutrition data (calories, protein, etc.) is returned to you

2. Nutrition Logs

All your food logs, goals, and preferences are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly submit a photo for analysis.

3. Technical Data

We may collect:

IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
Device type and OS version (via standard HTTP headers)
App version

How We Use Your Information

Food Analysis: To analyze food photos and return nutrition data
Service Improvement: To monitor API performance and prevent abuse
Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

NVIDIA AI: For food photo analysis. See NVIDIA Privacy Policy
Cloudflare: For hosting and CDN. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy

Data Retention

Photos: Deleted immediately after analysis (not stored)
Server Logs: Retained for 30 days for security purposes
Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data
Delete your data (delete the app to remove all local data)
Opt-out of photo analysis (use manual entry instead)

Data Security

We protect your data using:

HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmission
Secure API authentication
No long-term photo storage

Children's Privacy

CalSnap is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
